IEC of Texas PAC

Political Action Committees (PAC) in Texas are regulated by the Texas Ethics Commission, which enforces campaign finance laws to ensure transparency and accountability in political fundraising. The IEC of Texas PAC is a tax-exempt organization that pools campaign contributions from members and donates those funds to campaigns for candidates. At the state level, an organization becomes a PAC according to the state’s election laws. Contributions to PACs from corporate treasuries are illegal.

For over 50 years, IEC apprenticeship programs have trained highly skilled electricians across Texas. Strong electrical apprenticeship programs ensure Texas continues to have safe, qualified electricians building our communities.

We fight to:

Protect Subcontractors from Unfair Construction Contract Practices

Electrical contractors face growing pressure from unfair contract provisions that threaten the stability of our industry, including:

1. Pay-when-paid and pay-if-paid clauses
2. Excessive liability shifting
3. Unreasonable indemnification requirements
4. Delayed retainage and payment issues
5. Unfair risk allocation for delays and change orders

These practices disproportionately impact subcontractors and smaller contractors, creating financial strain and unnecessary risk.

The IEC of Texas PAC supports efforts to:
