Electrical Apprenticeship Program

Independent Electrical Contractors (IEC) administers a four-year earn while you learn electrical apprenticeship program. Students complete four years of classroom study and on the job training.

IEC has an industry-based certification approved by the Texas Education Agency for high schools. The certificate, Electrical Apprenticeship Centificate Level 1, can be taught in high schools. After successful completion of the program and passing the IEC exam, a student can complete the first year of IEC’s four-year apprenticeship program. The student then moves into the second year.

Tuition is paid as the student goes through the program, so at completion of the full four years of classroom and work experience the student has no student debt.
